Information about the original:
The Heinkel He-111 medium bomber formed the backbone of the Luftwaffe’s bomber wings during the early stages of World War II. It was powered by a pair of engines, as were many other contemporary aircraft of similar design, but it also featured a number of innovative solutions, such as an all-metal frame. Thanks to its Jumo 211 engines, it could reach a maximum speed of 440 km/h and carry up to 2,000 kg of bombs in its internal bomb bay. The He-111 was easily recognizable by its distinctive all-glass nose, wings, and rudder profile. The Luftwaffe deployed it in large numbers, particularly in 1940 during the Battle of Britain. Over the following years, the Germans continually sought to improve and modernize it, but by the later stages of the war, it had already become an obsolete aircraft.
