With this release, Italeri covers the F-15E Strike Eagle in 1:48 scale, the two-seat fighter-bomber developed from the F-15 Eagle for all-weather strike operations. It entered USAF service in the late 1980s as a replacement for the F-111 and saw combat use in operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
The F-15E configuration
The F-15E has twin vertical tails and a tandem cockpit. In the rear seat, the weapon systems operator manages route control, target tracking, and electronic countermeasures.
