The JSF (Joint Strike Fighter) program was created to develop a new fifth-generation, all-weather, multi-role fighter aircraft capable of replacing the ground-attack aircraft of the United States and NATO countries. This project resulted in the single-seat Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II.
