Mr. Color (10 ml) JMSDF 2705 Dark Gray N4

Mr. Hobby C608 JMSDF 2705 Dark Gray N4 (10 ml) is an indispensable complementary shade to N5 (C607) for modelling Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) vessels. This color is key to the detailed and authentic design of modern Japanese warships.

🚢 Purpose and Use of Shade (Modern Era)

While shade N5 (C607) forms the base, lighter grey colour of most hulls and ourbuildings, 2705 Dark Gray N4 is used to accentuate and create contrast on selected surfaces:

• Contrast Paint: As a darker gray, shade N4 is often applied to the tops of superstructures, chimneys andhulls, radars and surfaces prone to soiling, where it helps to break up the silhouette of the ship against the background.

• Decks: It can also be used to coat the deck surfaces of modern destroyers, where it creates a slight contrast with the vertical surfaces of the hull and superstructure.

• Authenticity: The use of both N5 and N4 shades is essential to achieve the visual depth and historically accurate colour scheme that is standardised across the modern JMSDF fleet.

• Finish: A matte (Flat) finish is standard for modern warfare paint.
