This 1/48 scale model of the P-39K/L Airacobra is an American WWII fighter aircraft, known for its unusual configuration with the engine behind the pilot; recommended as a supplement to kit # 8463. Package does not include paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
The Bell P-39 Airacobra fighter was one of the most unusual designs of World War II. The engine located behind the pilot allowed the use of a heavy 37mm cannon firing through the propeller cone, giving the aircraft considerable firepower. The K and L versions were developed as improvements to the previous models with an improved engine and other modifications suitable for export, particularly to the Soviet Union under the Lend-Lease program.
This 1/48 scale kit provides a detailed model of these variants with accurately modelled surfaces, cockpit, landing gear and armament. The kit is an ideal complement to kit #8463, expanding the building possibilities to include other marquee versions of the Airacobra.
