P-47D/M Intercooler Channel Correction Set 1/48 / for Tamiya kits

The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was one of the most widespread and robust fighter aircraft in the US Air Force during the Second World War. It was characterised by its massive structure, a powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp engine and a sophisticated supercharging system, an integral part of which was an intercooler located at the rear of the fuselage. It is precisely this design detail that is the focus of this add-on.

The 1:48 scale P-47D kit from Tamiya is generally regarded as a high-quality base, but it suffers from one specific shortcoming: it lacks the inner section of the intercooler air duct. As a result, the opening in the fuselage reveals an empty space, and the view of the unfinished interior detracts from an otherwise authentic finish. The CMK kit addresses this problem directly and without unnecessary complications — simply install the parts into the fuselage and the shortcoming is resolved.

The accessory is produced using 3D printing technology, which allows for the reproduction of complex shapes with high precision. The set is compatible with both the P-47D and P-47M variants from Tamiya in 1:48 scale.
