Bristol M.1C Checkers & Stripes in 1/32 scale by Special Hobby captures one of the few British single-seat fighter monoplanes of WWI. This sleek aircraft was developed in 1916 in response to the need for faster and more aerodynamically advanced fighters. Unlike the traditional biplanes that dominated aerial combat at the time, the Bristol M.1C had smooth lines and a high top speed, giving it excellent performance in dogfights.
Despite its qualities, it was only deployed in limited numbers, mainly in less exposed battlefields such as Macedonia and the Middle East where its speed and agility were better utilised. Many pilots praised the aircraft, but its acceptance was limited due to the conservative mindset of the RAF command, which preferred biplanes.
