With a career spanning twenty years the Savoia Marchetti SIAI S 79 was certainly the most important aircraft to emerge from the Italian Air Force between the World Wars. Blooded for the first time in Spain it went onto win fame and notoriety as a torpedo bomber of exceptional ability.
