Tyranids: Hive Guard

The Hive Guard are amongst the most feared defensive beasts of the Tyranid Hive. They are heavily armoured ‘gun-beasts’, creatures born for a single purpose – to guard key invasion points. They protect the Swarm’s Hive Ships and capillary towers, which tower over the prey worlds like silent sentinels. Hive Guards remain motionless at their posts until intruders come within range of their deadly bio-weapons, at which point they shower their prey with a barrage of devastating fire.

A defining feature of these creatures is their firm synaptic link to the powerful symbiotic weapons that are a natural part of their bodies. The models can be armed in two ways: the impaler cannon fires living projectiles capable of striking targets even outside the line of sight, whilst the shockcannon is ideal for stopping enemy infantry and lighter vehicles. The set contains enough weapons to equip an entire unit with either of these variants, depending on your preferred playstyle.

This versatile plastic kit contains 102 components, allowing you to assemble either 3 Hive Guard models or, alternatively, 3 Tyrant Guard models – the personal bodyguards of Tyranid synaptic beings. The models are designed to the standard scale for Warhammer 40,000 and offer a wealth of detail suitable for painting, including chitinous armour, organic weapons and the characteristic biomechanical structures typical of the Tyranid faction.

The set is ideal for players of the Tyranid army looking to bolster their defensive and firepower, as well as for collectors and modellers seeking an interesting painting project. The set is supplied unpainted and requires assembly. It does not include the paints or glue required for assembly.
