MR.Hobby AMMO MIG YAKUMO Color Set D BASICS (WY04) is a universal patination set developed in exclusive collaboration between Mr. Hobby and AMMO by Mig Jiménez.
This set serves as a basic complement to the regionally focused weathering sets (WY01, WY02, WY03) and contains the key effects needed for any military model, regardless of the battlefield. Contents include products for simulating oil spots, rust, paint chipping and universal dirt. With this kit, you can create the basic wear and tear typical of metal and operating fluids on your model.
MR.Hobby AMMO MIG YAKUMO Color Set D BASICS (WY04) is an essential set that covers the most basic and universal wear effects that the modeler will encounter with any military equipment. It has been developed to work seamlessly with other Yakumo kits as well as conventional model paints.
🛠️ Purpose and Use of the Kit
The BASICS kit targets operational wear and damage that is independent of geographic location:

Key Effects: The products in the kit allow you to faithfully simulate rust on exhausts and damaged surfaces, fuel and oil stains around filler necks, and mechanicalparts, and paint scuffing (grey/brown/metallic scratches) that reveal the underlying material.

Type of Products: The kit contains a mixture of weathering products from Mr. Hobby: Mr . Weathering Color (enamel base), Mr . Weathering Pastel (pigment base) and Mr . Acrysion (acrylic base).
🧪 Kit Contents and Product Characteristics
The WY04 kit contains four basic and versatile patina products:

MIG-013 FUEL & OIL (Mr. Weathering Color - 40 ml): Enamel (enamel) product for creating realistic, oily, runny fuel and oil stains. It can be worked and shaded with thinner (Mr. Weathering Colour Thinner).

MIG-014 EARTH & GRIME (Mr. Weathering Pastel - 6 g): Pigment to mimic the universally dark clay and dirt that accumulates in depressions and around the undercarriage.

MIG-015 CHIPPING (Acrysion - 18 ml). It is used for scratch and scuff effects. The advantage of Acrysion is that it can be diluted and cleaned with water/alcohol, which prevents unwanted damage to the enamel/lacquer paints that form the base.

MIG-016 RUST (Mr. Weathering Color - 40 ml): Enamel product for simulating dark and lighter rust on metal parts such as exhausts and damaged armor.

Thinner: For MIG-013, MIG-014 and MIG-016, a special Mr. Weathering Colour Thinner (not included) is used. For MIG-015 (Chipping Acrysion), water or Acrysion thinner is used.
