The main photo-etched set refines detail that the plastic kit simplifies, the second one concentrates on the landing flaps, and the STEEL seatbelts complete the cockpit. The Spitfire Mk.IX, powered by the two-stage supercharged Merlin 60-series engine, was the RAF's answer to the German Fw 190; the E wing carried two 20 mm cannon and two 0.50 in machine guns.

The base plastic kit is not included.
