1/35 British RR Armored Car Pattern 1914/1920
Meng 1/35 British RR Armored Car Pattern 1914/1920 is a 1/35th scale plastic model construction kit of a British armored car. This car, based on the Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost chassis, was deployed during World War I and remained in service in the interwar period.
The British Rolls-Royce Pattern 1914 armored car was developed at the start of World War I, when there was an urgent need to create a mobile combat vehicle suitable for reconnaissance and infantry support. It was based on the chassis of the reliable Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, which was fitted with an armored superstructure and a turret mounting a Vickers machine gun. It excelled in reliability, good mobility on paved roads, and solid crew protection.
The first version, the Pattern 1914, was successfully deployed on the Western Front, in the colonies, and in the Middle East. After the war, a modernized version, the Pattern 1920, followed, featuring reinforced armor, body modifications, and improved performance. These vehicles remained in service with British and Allied units throughout the interwar period, and some were even deployed in the early stages of World War II.
The Meng 1/35 scale kit allows you to build a model of this iconic armored car in either the Pattern 1914 or the modernized Pattern 1920 version. It features detailed work on the body, turret, and chassis, making it an attractive model for anyone interested in military vehicles from the first half of the 20th century.
The package does not include the paints or adhesives needed for assembly.
