The Tiger I was one of the most famous tanks of World War II. Its first mass-produced units, known as Initial Production, were deployed from the summer of 1942 during the fighting at Leningrad and subsequently appeared in North Africa under the command of Field Marshal Erwin Rommel. The tank featured a combination of heavy armour and the powerful KwK 36 gun.88 mm, which made it effective in destroying any Allied tank of its time at long range.
The early version of the Tiger I differed from later variants in several details, such as different running wheels, exhaust covers and specific turret features. Despite its technical sophistication, the tank suffered from difficult maintenance and mechanical problems, but it nevertheless commanded respect among the Allies and became a feared adversary on the battlefield.
The Border Model 1/35th scale kit provides the opportunity to build three different variants of the early production Tiger I (3in1), whichTiger Tigers can be built in a variety of environments - both on the Eastern Front and in North Africa. The model is detailed with finely engraved surfaces and authentic design features.
The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
