1/48 F-8J Crusader
The 1/48th scale model of the F-8J Crusader by Hobby 2000 is a modernized version of the famous American fighter aircraft from the Vietnam War. The kit includes high quality plastic parts (Hasegawa), Cartograf decals and cockpit masks. The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Vought F-8J Crusader was an upgraded variant of the original F-8, which was created by extensively upgrading older versions to meet the needs of the U.S. Navy during the second half of the 1960s. The aircraft received a strengthened airframe, upgraded avionics systems, and improved carrier landing capabilities. It was characterized by maintaining excellent maneuverability and high speed, while still carrying powerful armament including 20mm cannons and the capability to carry AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles.
F-8J Crusaders were deployed during the Vietnam War, where they earned the nickname "The Last of the Gunfighters" because they were among the last fighter aircraft to be equipped with guns as their primary weapon. They served with several US Navy squadrons until the mid-1970s.
The Hobby 2000 1/48 F-8J Crusader uses Hasegawa's high quality moldings, ensuring accuracy and a high level of detail. Included in the package are decals printed by Cartograf for multiple versions of the aircraft carrier machines and pre-cut masks for the cockpit to make finishing touches to the model easier.
The model is perfect for fans of the US Naval Air Force, jet fighters and the Vietnam War era.
Package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
