Academy Me 262A-1/2 "Last Ace" LE 1:72 plastic kit

This release covers the Messerschmitt Me 262 in Academy's "Last Ace" edition and lets you build one of two distinct versions from the same box: the Me 262A-1a fighter or the Me 262A-2a bomber. The real aircraft was among the first operational jet-powered combat aircraft of the Second World War and was markedly faster than contemporary piston-engined types.

What is included in the kit

The kit supplies different upper nose gun bay covers and alternative aft fuselage parts for the two variants. Surface detail includes recessed panel lines and rivets, with engraved cockpit and landing gear bay detail. External stores options include underwing R4M rockets and under-nose mounts for SC 500 bombs or WGr.21 rockets.

Decals and marking options

The Cartograf decal sheet provides five marking options in total: three Me 262A-1a aircraft and two Me 262A-2a aircraft. The fighter choices include machines associated with Heinz Bär and Adolf Galland, while the bomber options represent aircraft of KG 51.
