The Type XXI, also referred to as the "Electroboat", was a revolutionary type of submarine that for the first time allowed for long-term underwater survival thanks to high-capacity batteries and improved engines. Specifically, U-2540 is pictured in its post-World War II condition when it served in the West German "Wilhelm Bauer" Submarine Museum.
The 1/200 scale RCsubs model kit is made of resin parts with a high level of detail, offering the possibility to open part of the hull and reveal the interior with technical details. Also included is a selection of additional parts for an authentic submarine configuration. Designed for experienced builders who appreciate more challenging assembly and painting.
