USS Michael Murphy DDG-112 is an Arleigh Burke class destroyer of the Flight IIA standard, with two helicopter hangars aft. She is named after Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, a Navy SEAL posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions in Afghanistan in 2005.
The manufacturer lists more than 1200 parts; the finished model is about 78 cm long. The instructions show an SH-60B helicopter, photo-etched parts complement the plastic, and the decal sheet provides hull number 112, the ship name, crests and flags. At 1/200 the model offers generous surfaces for detail work on the superstructure and suits modellers interested in today's navies. Paints and glue are not included.
