Aires 1/32 Macchi C.205V Veltro series III cockpit set is a resin kit designed to improve the cockpit details of the Italian Macchi C.205V Veltro fighter aircraft in 1:32 scale. The kit replaces the standard plastic cockpit parts with more detailed resin castings and allows you to achieve a higher level of accuracy and plasticity when building your model. The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
The Macchi C.205V Veltro (Greyhound) was one of the best Italian fighter aircraft of World War II. It was built as an improved variant of the C.202 Folgore, with the more powerful German Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine installed instead of the original Alfa Romeo engine. This change greatly improved the machine's performance and allowed it to compete with Allied fighters in the 1942-1945 period. The C.205V was produced in several series, with the Series III representing one of the later production variants with minor modifications to the cockpit and armament. The machine served both with the Regia Aeronautica and later with the units of the Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana (Air Force of the Italian Social Republic) as well as with the Allied Italian forces after the surrender in 1943.
The 1:32 scale Aires resin add-on replaces the standard cockpit parts with more detailed castings that better capture the structure of the instrument panel, controls, pilot's seat and side panels. This kit is designed for more advanced modelers who want to achieve a higher level of detail and realism than that offered by conventional plastic kits. The resin allows for finer relief and sharp edges, which is especially noticeable in the instruments, levers and structural interior elements.
