1/32 Kyushu J7W1 Shinden - Imperial Japanese Navy Fighter Aircraft
Zoukei Mura SWS01 1/32 Kyushu J7W1 Shinden is a 1/32 scale plastic kit of Japanese experimental fighter aircraft from the end of WWII. This unique machine with a pusher propeller and unusual duck-type design was developed to defend Japanese territory against American bombers. The model offers extremely detailed construction and internal parts according to the "Super Wing Series" philosophy.
The Kyushu J7W1 Shinden (translated as "Divine Lightning") was one of the Japanese Air Force's most interesting projects during the final stages of World War II. The aircraft was designed as an ambush fighter with an exceptional concept - a duck wing arrangement and a pusher propeller located behind the fuselage. This unconventional design was intended to provide high climb performance and excellent visibility from the cockpit when attacking high targets, especially American B-29 bombers.
The J7W1 prototype was flown in August 1945, shortly before the end of the war. The machine showed considerable potential but never made it into series production. Only one surviving example is now in a museum in the USA as a reminder of the technical courage and innovative thinking of the Japanese designers.
