1/32 P-40 B/C Tomahawk recommended for GWH
Brand: Yahu Models

The Curtiss P-40 Tomahawk (B and C versions) was one of the first mass-produced US fighter aircraft deployed in combat in World War II. The P-40 B/C was an early variant of this machine, which appeared in American, British, Soviet and Chinese service. The machine was known for its rugged construction, decent low- and medium-altitude performance, and distinctive design with a prominent radiator under the engine. In practice, the P-40 proved particularly useful in tactical support and air combat in Africa, the Pacific and China, where it was flown by famous units such as the "Flying Tigers". For modelers, the P-40 B/C is interesting because it represents an early phase of the American fighterAir Force and offers a wide variety of color schemes and markings from different theaters.

The Yahu Models set is a complementary upgrade set designed for Great Wall Hobby 1:32 scale kits. It includes a self-adhesive dashboard with printed dials and details to replace the original plastic part from the kit. The advantage of this solution is quick installation - just glue the panel in place of the original plastic part - and significantly increased detail without the need to manually paint small instruments with brushes or masks. The printed dials have sharp contours, realistic colours and often subtle effects such as reflections or shading, which contribute to the believable appearance of the cockpit.

Installation is simple: The plastic dashboard part from the original kit is left as a carrier (or the embossed details are removed with sandpaper for a flat surface) and the printed film is glued onto it. This maintains the mechanical strength of the part while achieving a visually distinct improvement. The kit is suitable for modelers of all levels - beginners will appreciate the ease of application, advanced can further refine the panel by dry brushing or applying clear coat to simulate glass instrument covers.

The 1:32 scale offers plenty of room for detailed interior work, and the instrument panel is one of the first places the eye is drawn to when looking into the cockpit. Enhancing this part therefore greatly enhances the overall impression of the finished model, especially when the cockpit is left open or illuminated with LED lighting. The package does not include the glue or paint needed to assemble the main kit.
