1/32 SB2C-4 Helldiver recommended for Infinity

The Curtiss SB2C Helldiver was a U.S. Navy dive bomber that succeeded the legendary SBD Dauntless. The SB2C-4 version was one of the most numerous and widely used variants of the type and was deployed in the final phase of the Pacific campaign. Although the Helldiver underwent a complicated development and its early days were plagued by technical problems, it became over time a reliable and powerful machine capable of carrying a substantial bomb and torpedo payload. For modelers, the SB2C is an interesting subject due to its distinctive design with a large tail fin, retractable landing gear, and richly appointed cockpit typical of US Navy deck planes.

The photo-etched accessory from Yahu Models is designed for Infinity Models' 1:32 scale Curtiss SB2C-4 Helldiver kits and replaces the standard plastic instrument panel parts with a more detailed one made with photo-etching technology. This allows for a finer rendering of the individual instruments, dials, levers and controls, which is especially important for 1:32 scale, where the cockpit is clearly visible and forms a significant part of the overall impression of the model. Photo-etched parts allow for more precise moulding, thinner material and sharper edges than conventional injection moulded plastic.

Installing photoetched accessories requires basic experience in bending fine metal parts and bonding them (usually with instant glue or special photoetched adhesives). It is recommended that you follow the enclosed instructions carefully and paint or tint the parts as required to match your chosen cockpit colour scheme prior to installation. The result is a significantly more detailed and realistic dashboard that enhances the overall level of the model and is suitable for more advanced modellers and competition work. The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for installation.
