1/32 Spitfire I early/middle recommended for Kotare
Yahu Models 1/32 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I early/middle instrument panel is a photo-etched dashboard add-on for Kotare's 1:32 scale Spitfire Mk.I kit. It features a detailed panel with depicted instruments and dials that replaces the standard plastic section and greatly enhances the realism of the cockpit. Designed to be glued together, requires basic experience working with photo-etch. Package does not include paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I represents one of the most iconic fighters of the British Royal Air Force and a symbol of Britain's defence during World War II. It was the early and medium versions of the Mk.I that took part in key battles in 1940, including the Battle of Britain, where RAF pilots faced the German Luftwaffe in a decisive clash for air supremacy. The Spitfire was praised for its agility, performance and sleek design, which was based on earlier racing aircraft. For modellers, the early Spitfire Mk.I is interesting not only for its historic weight, but also for its distinctive details - including a cockpit with a typical instrument layout that reflected the British design philosophy of the time.
Yahu Models' 1:32 scale photo-etch kit is designed specifically for Kotare's Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I early/middle kits. It replaces the standard plastic dashboard and brings a significantly higher level of detail - dials, scales, labels and controls are depicted with a precision that conventional injection moulded plastic cannot achieve. The photo-etched parts are made by chemical etching from a thin metal sheet, allowing the fine lines and text to be captured, bringing the cockpit to life and approximating the look of the real machine. Installation requires carefully separating the parts from the support frame, bending them as instructed and gluing them into the cockpit of the kit. It is recommended to use a special instant glue or two-part epoxy glue suitable for metal and plastic.
Working with photo-etch requires patience and basic experience - the parts are fragile and must be handled carefully to avoid warping or breaking. However, the result is well worth the effort: the detailed dashboard greatly improves the overall impression of the cockpit, especially when the model is displayed with the hood open or illuminated. The accessory can be combined with other aftermarket features such as coloured dial prints, the pilot's seat or seat belts to create a complete and realistic interior. The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
