1/35 HMS X-Craft Submarine
I Love Kit 1/35 HMS X-Craft Submarine is a plastic kit of a British midget submarine. The X-Craft carried two large detachable charges along the sides of the hull. Paints and glue are not included.
The Royal Navy developed the X-Craft midget submarines to attack ships lying in protected anchorages. Instead of torpedoes they carried two side charges that the crew released beneath the target. The best-known operation came in 1943, when X-Craft damaged the German battleship Tirpitz in a Norwegian fjord.
The kit contains the hull halves on a single sprue and a decal sheet with the British White Ensign. The colour guide shows a dark grey finish with brass-coloured periscope details. In 1/35 the small submarine reaches a size that works well in a display case or a diorama, offering an unusual Second World War subject. Paints and glue are not included.
Nationality: Great Britain. Period: Second World War.
