1/35 RAUPENSCHLEPPER OST RSO/01. MID PROD
The 1/35th scale model of the Raupenschlepper Ost RSO/01 Mid Production depicts a tracked vehicle developed for the German Army to be deployed in the harsh conditions of the Eastern Front. This mid production version combines a straight-walled cab and a rugged tracked chassis. The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
The Raupenschlepper Ost (RSO) was a tracked tractor developed by the German army in response to the unbearable conditions of the Russian front, where conventional wheeled equipment was failing in mud and snow. The vehicle proved itself due to its reliability, simple design and ability to transport supplies, weapons or even wounded directly to the line. The Mid Production series featured a modified cab with chamfered corners and a partially simplified design, increasing production efficiency.
The model accurately depicts this production variant with accurately rendered chassis, tracks, engine, cab interior and cargo bed. The high attention to detail, such as riveting, exhaust pipes and accessories, allows for an authentic model of a vehicle that was crucial to maintaining German logistics during the winter campaigns. Suitable for dioramas from Central and Eastern Europe in 1942-1944.
