1/35 Russian Main Battle Tank T-72B1
Meng 1/35 Russian Main Battle Tank T-72B1 is a 1/35th scale plastic model construction kit of the Soviet main battle tank. This variant of the T-72 was introduced in the early 1980s and brought improved armor protection and upgraded armament over the original versions.
The T-72B1 tank was created as one of the modernized versions of the Soviet T-72, which was the basic type of the USSR tank troops since the 1970s. It entered production in the early 1980s and was an improvement on the previous T-72A model. The main change was the installation of reactive armour and the strengthening of turret and hull protection, which significantly increased resistance to anti-tank weapons.
Armament consisted of a 125mm 2A46 gun capable of firing both armour piercing and fragmentation ammunition, supplemented by a PKT coaxial machine gun and NSVT anti-aircraft machine gun. The tank was powered by a 780 hp V-84 diesel engine, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 60 km/h. The T-72B1 became one of the most widely used tanks of its time and was exported to a number of Warsaw Pact and Allied countries.
