The T-70M Special Edition 1/35th scale model by MiniArt is a Soviet light tank from the second half of World War II, produced since 1943 as an improved version of the T-70 type. The Soviet T-70M light tank, produced from 1943, was a response to the inadequate performance of the older T-60 and T-70 tanks in combat against German armour. The improved "M" type brought a number of design changes, such as a redesigned hull, a larger turret for two crew members, and more powerful engines. Although the T-70M was a temporary solution, it took an active part in the fighting, particularly on the Eastern Front in 1943-1945, and formed the backbone of the Red Army's light units before the advent of the T-34 medium tanks.
