1/35 ZіL-131 with DShKMd crew. Armed Forces of Ukraine
The ICM ZIL-131 with DShKM crew is a plastic kit of a versatile Soviet truck modified for military use, including a DShKM heavy machine gun in the hull and crew figures. The vehicle, originally conceived in the 1970s-80s, features a figure of the DShKhm. It remains in use in the post-war period by the armed forces, including the Ukrainianunits, where it often appears in field modifications as a mobile firing platform in desert and urban conditions.
The ZIL-131 is a proven 6×6 propulsion and logistics vehicle whose simple and reliable design has enabled long-term deployment in the armies of many countries. In post-1990 conflicts, it has become a popular base for improvised modifications - from a communications and transport vehicle to a mobile gunnery position. One of the most common modifications is the installation of a DShKM heavy machine gun in the hull on a swivel stand or fixed base, creating a a rapidly deployable firing platform suitable for infantry suppression, supporting fire and limited engagements against lightly armoured targets.
The DShKM machine gun is known for its reliability and high rate of fire; its energy of attack is approximately 19.2 kJ and the special B-32 cartridge can penetrate approximately 20 mm of armour at ranges of up to 500 metres. With a wide range of munitions - from penetrating to incendiary and special types - the the DShKM is a versatile means of supporting ground operations and defending against low-flying targets.
The ICM kit faithfully reproduces the distinctive features of the ZIL-131 and field modifications: the detailed hull with machine gun mount, realistic chassis and engine details, cabin interior and crew figure set including the gunner at the gunner's position. The parts are designed to allow the vehicle to be displayed in a combat configuration typical of current deployments.
The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
