1/350 USS Stevens DD-479
I Love Kit 1/350 USS Stevens DD-479 is a plastic kit of an American Fletcher class destroyer. The ship carried a catapult with an OS2U Kingfisher floatplane. Paints and glue are not included.
USS Stevens DD-479 was one of the few Fletcher class destroyers that received a catapult for a scout floatplane in place of a torpedo mount and one gun. The arrangement proved impractical and the catapults were later removed, which makes this configuration an unusual subject from the Second World War US fleet.
According to the box the kit contains more than 420 parts, and the finished model is 327.6 mm long. An OS2U Kingfisher with catapult, photo-etched parts and a decal sheet with hull number 479, aircraft insignia and deck areas are included. This compact 1/350 model fits any collection of Fletcher class ships and recalls an interesting experiment. Paints and glue are not included.
Nationality: USA. Period: Second World War.
