1/48 F-105D recommended for Hobby Boss

The Republic F-105D Thunderchief was a single-engine supersonic fighter-bomber that formed the backbone of American tactical aviation during the Cold War and played a key role during the Vietnam War. Nicknamed the "Thud", it was designed primarily for low-level penetrations of enemy airspace with a nuclear or conventional bombsight in the inner fuselage. During Operation Rolling Thunder (1965-1968), the F-105D bore the brunt of strike missions over North Vietnam and became one of the most heavily deployed aircraft of the entire conflict. The F-105D's cockpit was up to the standards of its time - the densely populated instrument panel reflected the complexity of the machine's navigation, weapons and flight equipment.

The 1:48 scale Yahu Model add-on is designed for the Hobby Boss kit and focuses specifically on the cockpit instrument panel. It combines color printing with photo-etched metal parts, achieving a significantly higher level of detail and plasticity than the standard plastic parts from the base kit. The colour printing faithfully reproduces the dials, scales and markings of the individual instruments, while the etched parts add depth and a realistic look to the metal bezels and panels. The result is a cockpit that stands up to close inspection of an open model.
