1/48 Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-11 Basic Kit

The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-11 is one of the later variants of the renowned ‘Dora’ series, that is, the Fw 190 variants powered by a Junkers Jumo inline engine, which differed from the original radial-engine versions in their characteristically elongated nose and distinct silhouette. The D-11 version was developed at the very end of the war as an attempt to further increase the aircraft’s performance and combat effectiveness, and was produced in only small numbers. It is precisely this that makes it an interesting and less common subject, one that stands out in any collection of Luftwaffe aircraft and complements the more common versions of the Fw 190 series.

The MiniArt 1:48 scale kit is a glue-together model with an emphasis on faithful reproduction of the original. It is characterised by a high level of detail, realistically rendered metal surfaces and finely executed panel lines, which stand out well once finished. The Basic Kit edition is a basic version of the kit focused on the aircraft model itself. The pack includes decals allowing you to build the aircraft in three colour schemes.

The 1:48 scale is popular amongst modellers thanks to its balanced ratio between size and level of detail — the model is large enough for surface textures and panelling to stand out, whilst remaining compact enough to fit comfortably in a display cabinet. For the late-production Fw 190D-11, it is customary to emphasise the panelling and apply appropriate operational weathering consistent with service towards the end of the war. The kit does not include the paints or adhesives required for assembly.
