1/48 Junkers Ju-87 B-1 recommended for Airfix

The Junkers Ju 87 "Stuka" was a German dive bomber that became one of the most famous symbols of the German Blitzkrieg. The B-1 version was the first mass-produced and combat-deployed subtype of the second generation, differing from the previous A variant mainly by a more powerful Junkers Jumo 211 engine and a modified cowling. The Ju 87 B-1 took an active part in the Polish campaign of 1939, the Battle of France and the early stages of the Battle of Britain in 1940. The distinctive siren-like sound during a dive attack - caused by the so-called "Jericho tubes" - became a psychological weapon as effective as the bombs themselves.
