1/48 P-40 E recommended for Hasegawa
Yahu Models YMA4814 is a set of etched 1:48 scale dashboards designed for Hasegawa's Curtiss P-40E kit. The parts are pre-coloured and ready for direct assembly using JustStick technology - no further painting required. The kit faithfully reproduces the P-40E cockpit instrument panel including details typical of early WWII American fighters.
The Curtiss P-40E Warhawk was a single-engine, single-seat fighter aircraft that formed the backbone of American fighter aviation in the early years of World War II. Deployments of the P-40E ranged from the Pacific to North Africa to the China-Burma-India theater, where it became particularly famous in the colors of the American Volunteer Group - the "Flying Tigers" - with its distinctive shark's mouth on the nose. Although outclassed in direct combat by faster opponents such as the Japanese Zero, it proved its worth at low altitudes, in attacks on ground targets and in the hands of experienced pilots. The P-40E's cockpit was equipped with a standard set of analog instruments for monitoring Allison V-1710 engine performance, navigation, and flight control - a clear but functional work surface that allowed the pilot to navigate even in challenging combat conditions.
Yahu Models YMA4814 is an aftermarket set of 1:48 scale etched instrument panels designed specifically for the Hasegawa P-40E kit. The parts are made from nickel silver and pre-painted - JustStick technology means they are ready for immediate assembly without the need for further painting or complex modifications. The kit thus offers a significant refinement of the cockpit over a standard plastic kit part, with minimal etched parts experience required.
