1/72 F-16CJ block 50 exhaust nozzle - closed

The F-16CJ Block 50 is an advanced variant of the F-16 Fighting Falcon multi-role fighter aircraft optimized for Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD). The Block 50 features a more powerful General Electric F110-GE-129 engine, improved avionics and the ability to carry advanced precision-guided munitions and AGM-88 HARM anti-radar missiles. This type is in service with the US and other allied air forces and has participated in numerous conflicts from the 1990s to the present.

The resin add-on from Aires features a detailed exhaust nozzle in a closed position, which more accurately captures the true appearance of the rear of the aircraft than the standard plastic parts found in basic kits. The F-16 nozzle is characterized by its variable diameter and internal structure, which this addition better captures. The closed position corresponds to the engine's out-of-service or low thrust condition, which is common during parking, maintenance or ground presentation. The add-on is cast in resin, a material that allows finer detail than injection molded plastic but requires more careful handling when cleaning, sanding and bonding.
