1/72 F7F-2, F-2N Tigercat
Fly Model 1/72 F7F-2, F-2N Tigercat is a plastic kit of an American twin-engine fighter aircraft from the late WWII and post-war period. It offers the possibility to build both a day fighter variant of the F7F-2 and a night version of the F-2N.
The Grumman F7F Tigercat was designed as a high-performance, twin-engine deck fighter for the U.S. Navy. It entered service towards the end of World War II, although it was no longer deployed in combat against Japan. The machine was characterized by its high speed, powerful armament, and rugged design, which made it suitable not only for daylight fighter missions but also for attacks on ground targets.
The F7F-2 variant was the standard day version, while the F-2N was a night fighter equipped with radar and adapted for night operations. The Tigercats were deployed in the post-war period and remained in the arsenal of the US Marine Corps, where they proved to be reliable multi-role machines.
