Marston Mat (PSP - Pierced Steel Planking) was a special steel perforated covering that the U.S. ArmyArmy used during World War II to reinforce runways, roads and temporary airfields. This system allowed for the rapid construction of runways in areas of poor terrain, particularly in the Pacific, Europe and North Africa.
