1/72 MiG-23BN
KPM 1/72 MiG-23BN is a 1/72 scale model of a Soviet designed fighter aircraft. The BN variant, derived from the MiG-23 fighter, was designed for attacking ground targets and exported to many countries including Czechoslovakia. The KPH edition kit includes decals, paint masks and 3D printed parts.
The MiG-23 was developed in the late 1960s as a new fighter aircraft with variable wing geometry to improve flight performance in various modes. A specialized attack variant, the MiG-23BN, was also developed on its basis, which differed primarily by a redesigned nose without radar, adapted to carry optical and targeting systems. The aircraft was designed to attack ground targets, and could carry a wide range of bombs, unguided missiles and overhead containers, as well as anti-ship cruise missiles.
It entered the Soviet Air Force's arsenal in the early 1970s and was soon exported to a number of Warsaw Pact states and other countries. The Czechoslovak Air Force operated MiG-23BNs from the mid-1970s, where they served as combat aircraft intended for direct support of ground troops. They were characterized by their high speed and ability to operate with heavy ordnance loads, although they lacked air combat capability.
KPM's 1/72nd scale KPH edition kit offers a detailed rendition of the MiG-23BN with authentic shapes and equipment. Decals, paint masks and 3D printed parts are included to enhance accuracy and ease of construction. The model represents an attractive opportunity for all those interested in Cold War combat aircraft.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
