1/72 Nakajima B6N1 Model 11 Tenzan
Hobby 2000 1/72 Nakajima B6N1 Model 11 Tenzan is a Japanese World War II torpedo bomber, deployed since 1943. The first production version of the B6N1 was intended for aircraft carriers, but often operated from land bases. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Nakajima B6N Tenzan, allied code name "Jill", was the successor to the successful torpedoB5N "Kate" bomber and was to offer faster speed, greater range and better defensive armament. The first production version of the B6N1 Model 11 was powered by the Nakajima Mamoru 11 engine, but suffered from technical problems which limited its deployment from aircraft carriers. As a result, these machines were often used from land bases to attack Allied ships in the Pacific.
The B6N1 Tenzan first fought in 1943 and participated in operations in the Southwest Pacific. Despite problems with the powerplant, it was valued for its torpedo and bomb carrying capacity, which allowed it to lead effective attacks against naval targets.
The 1/72nd scale Hobby 2000 kit features detailed plastic parts with fine surface engraving and decals for authentic Japanese naval aviation markings. This model is an attractive choice for modelers interested in Japanese WWII deck planes.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
