1/72 P-26 "Peashooter" USAF

The Boeing P-26 "Peashooter" entered service in 1934 as the U.S. Army's first all-metal single-plane fighter. The open cockpit, rigid landing gear and simple aerodynamic shapes reflected the transition between the classicbiplanes and modern fighter aircraft emerging on the cusp of World War II. Although the P-26 soon became technically obsolete, it made a significant contribution to pilot training, serving with USAAC units in the ContinentalUnited States, and entered combat service primarily in the Philippines, where it faced more modern Japanese machines in 1941.

The Prostějov Kovozávody 1/72 kit offers an accurate representation of the P-26 with a typical fuselage design, detailed open cockpit, realistic landing gear and faithfully captured proportions of the wings and tail surfaces. Fine paneling and clean moldings allow for easy construction, while authentic markings provide the opportunity to assemble the machine in the colors of early American aviation. The model is suitable for collectors looking for an iconic representative of the interwar period.

The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
