1/72 RWD-13" Middle East"
RS Model 1/72 RWD-13 "Middle East" is a 1/72 scale model of a Polish light sport and touring aircraft from the 1930s. Due to its reliability and simplicity, the RWD-13 was widespread not only in Poland, but also abroad, where it was also flown in the Middle East.
The RWD-13 was developed in the mid-1930s at the RWD design office as a three-seat light touring and sports aircraft. The aircraft featured a simple yet sturdy design and a reliable engine, making it popular with flying clubs and private owners alike. RWD-13 aircraft were used in civil transport, sports flying, and also as training and liaison aircraft.
By the outbreak of World War II, over 80 units had been produced, many of which were exported abroad. The RWD-13 also appeared in the Middle East, where it served as a liaison and utility aircraft. In Poland, some of these aircraft saw action during the September 1939 campaign, and a portion of them remained in service even after the evacuation to neighboring countries.
The RS Model 1/72 scale kit offers a detailed representation of this elegant light aircraft in the “Middle East” edition, which commemorates a lesser-known chapter of its service outside Europe. The model is an attractive choice for enthusiasts of interwar aviation and exotic markings.
