1/72 Short Sunderland Mk.I/II ‘The Flying Porcupine’
Brand: Special Hobby

The Short Sunderland was a four-engined flying boat of British origin, designed for long-range maritime reconnaissance, anti-submarine warfare and rescue operations. The Mk.I and Mk.II versions were the first combat-deployed variants, used primarily by RAF Coastal Command from the start of the war. The aircraft was distinguished by its long range, ability to operate from water surfaces and very strong defensive armament.

Its firepower earned it the nickname "The Flying Porcupine". Porcupine) because it could effectively counter German fighter attacks and protect both itself and the convoys it escorted. The Sunderlands played a key role in the Battle of the Atlantic, destroying U-boats and monitoring the movements of enemy ships.

The Special Hobby 1/72 Short Sunderland Mk.I/II offers a highly detailed kit with a detailed hull, interior, gunports and suspended armament. Included are decals for several RAF machines from different periods of the war, including typical naval camouflage.

This model is ideal for fans of WWII aviation, naval operations and flying boats.

The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
