1/72 StuH 42 Ausf. G LATE PROD
MiniArt 1/72 StuH 42 Ausf. G Late Production is a 1/72 scale plastic kit of a German self-propelled howitzer gun from the end of WWII. The late version, based on the StuG III chassis, carried a 105mm howitzer and was an effective means of fire support for infantry.
The Sturmhaubitze 42 (StuH 42) was a rebuild of the popular StuG III tank fighter, replacing the original gun with the 105mm leFH 18 howitzer. This type was primarily intended for the destruction of fortified positions, buildings and infantry formations. A late production variant of the StuH 42 Ausf. G, produced from 1943 until the end of the war, brought reinforced armour, additional front plates and the use of standardised components identical to the StuG III Ausf. G.
The StuH 42 was deployed on both the Eastern and Western fronts, supporting Wehrmacht armoured and infantry units. Although it was unable to successfully engage the heaviest Soviet tanks, its howitzer was very effective against lightly armored targets and enemy live fire.
MiniArt's 1/72 scale kit offers a detailed model of this late variant. It includes finely executed surface details, faithfully detailed chassis and realistically executed armament. It is suitable for both stand-alone presentation and as part of a larger diorama of the last years of WWII.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
