AK Acrylics 3GEN Aircraft Series Dark Olive Drab 41 (17 ml)
AK Interactive AK11860 Dark Olive Drab 41 is a 3GEN Aircraft Series acrylic in an 18 ml bottle. From 1941, Dark Olive Drab 41 was the basic upper-surface colour of USAAF aircraft.
According to AK Interactive, Dark Olive Drab 41 and Neutral Grey 43 were the basic camouflage colours of the US Army Air Forces from 1941 until late 1943, in practice until the end of the Second World War. The colour therefore appears in the AK11732 WWII USAAF Aircraft Colors Vol.1 set, aimed at the P-38 Lightning, P-40 Warhawk, P-47 Thunderbolt, B-17 Flying Fortress and B-24 Liberator, among others.
The second set is AK11733 WWII USAAF Aircraft Colors Vol.2, where Dark Olive Drab 41 is used for the anti-glare panels of late-war unpainted aircraft. It is a third-generation (3GEN) acrylic for brush and airbrush with high pigmentation and coverage as stated by the maker; the bottle holds 18 ml.
