AK Interactive AK8033 Light & Dry Crackle Effects (100 ml) creates a light-colored, dry, and cracked soil effect with a dry, light appearance. It is suitable for the surfaces of dioramas, vignettes, figure bases, wargaming terrain, and the undersides of vehicles where a cracked layer of soil is intended.
Recommended Procedure
- Paint the surface with acrylic paint and let it dry completely. The base color will be visible through the cracks.
- Gently stir the product before use and apply it in an even, thin layer. Do not spread the product further after application.
- The thickness of the layer determines the size of the cracks: a thinner application creates a finer network, while a thicker layer produces more pronounced cracking.
- Let it dry naturally or carefully speed up the process with a hair dryer. Too strong a stream of air can displace the wet layer.
- Once completely dry, the surface can be further enhanced with pigments, washes, or drybrushing.
