AK Interactive AK192 Glossy Varnish (60 ml) is an acrylic protective varnish designed to provide a glossy finish, a smooth base for decals and washes, or a final gloss for painted and wet surfaces. Once dry, it forms a continuous transparent layer that protects the work done previously and adjusts the final gloss level.
Recommended Procedure
- Shake the bottle thoroughly. Apply the varnish only to a clean, dry, and fully cured surface.
- For brush application, use a soft flat brush and apply thin, even strokes without repeatedly going over the drying layer.
- For airbrushing, adjust the consistency with AK712 Acrylic Thinner. Add the thinner gradually, depending on the nozzle size and the desired coat thickness.
- Apply one to several thin coats. A thick or runny coat may compromise the evenness of the surface and obscure fine details.
- Allow the paint to dry completely before further handling or applying a patina. The manufacturer specifies that it takes approximately 12 hours to dry completely.
Before applying decals, it creates a smooth surface that helps minimize silvering of the carrier film. After applying decals and washi tape, the final gloss can be adjusted with a matte or satin clear coat.
