Making asphalt look like more than just a coat of grey paint can be tricky. AK-Interactive Asphalt (AK1228) solves this problem with a specific texture that contains microscopic grains that simulate crushed aggregate in the asphalt mix. The result is a matte, dark grey surface that looks absolutely realistic under the wheels of modern machinery and the boots of soldiers.

This product is indispensable for modern conflict scenes, post-apocalyptic worlds (e.g. Fallout or Walking Dead) or sci-fi systems such as Warhammer 40,000, where battles are fought in the streets of industrial cities (Hive Cities). The asphalt surface adds immediate civilization context to the scene and serves as a great base for additional details.

Product details and tips for working

The Wargame Terrains textures are developed for easy application and high durability, which you will especially appreciate on game bases.

• Easy to apply: apply the texture with a spatula or flat brush. To achieve a smooth road surface, you can smooth it slightly with a dampened tool after application.

• Realistic damage: before the texture dries completely, you can carve cracks, potholes or projectile holes into the texture. This will make the asphalt appear old and worn.

• Road markings: Once dry, lines and markings can be easily painted onto the surface using acrylic paints, stencils or masking tape.

• Combination: looks great when combined with pigments simulating dust and sand at the roadside, or with clumps of grass growing through cracks (e.g. ivy or small mosses).

Important note: The package does not contain paint or glue. Tools used in working with this acrylic can be easily cleaned with clean water.
