The Messerschmitt Bf 109F-2, nicknamed "Friedrich", represented a major development in German fighter aircraft design during World War II. Deployed from 1941, it featured a more aerodynamic design, a more powerful DB 601N engine and improved armament, making it one of the most effective fighter aircraft of its time.
