Information about the original:
The AH-64 Apache can be considered the most famous attack helicopter in history. It was designed to operate on the front lines and carry out missions against tanks and helicopters, as well as ambush missions and close air support missions in all weather conditions and in any operational environment. The AH-64D Longbow is an upgraded version with more advanced attack capabilities and more precise targeting systems. The “Longbow” is characterized by the AN/APG-78 radar hidden in a radome above the main rotor. Its elevated position allows for target detection and the use of missiles, such as Hellfire anti-tank missiles, even when the helicopter is hidden behind hills, trees, or buildings and out of the enemy’s range. Its main weapon is the 30mm M230 cannon mounted beneath the cockpit. The AH-64D can carry a substantial arsenal of attack weapons, such as rockets and guided missiles, on its four pylons attached to short winglets.
