The MiG-21PFM was one of the modernized versions of the famous MiG-21, produced since the mid-1960s and designed primarily for air defence missions. Compared to previous versions, it had a more powerful radar, a new ejection system, a modified cockpit cover and the ability to carry nuclear munitions. The MiG-21PFM served in the Warsaw Pact countries, as well as in many countries in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
