1/48 SG-38 / ŠK-38 Czechoslovakia, Poland and Eas
Special Hobby SG-38 / ŠK-38 1/48 is a plastic model kit of a simple training glider featuring postwar variants from Czechoslovakia, Poland, and East Germany.
The Special Hobby SG-38 / ŠK-38 Czechoslovakia, Poland, and East Germany in 1/48 scale represents one of the most widely used training gliders of its time. Its simple open design was used for first solo flights and basic pilot training.
The SG-38 was developed in the second half of the 1930s and was used in large numbers before, during, and after the war. The postwar edition of the kit includes markings for gliders operated in Czechoslovakia as the ŠK-38, as well as in Poland and East Germany.
Building Recommendations
The open truss structure requires careful finishing of joints and ongoing checks of the geometry. Do not install the fine struts until the main parts are firmly joined, and add the bracing after the assembly has hardened. Wooden surfaces can be highlighted with fine detailing and a transparent stain.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included.
