After its successful deployment in Poland and France at the start of World War II, it was also used in Russia and North Africa, even though it had by then become inferior to enemy tanks. The F version, developed in 1941, featured reinforced front and side armor and, weighing 9.5 metric tons, reached a speed of 40 km/h.
